Convention is usually held
the first weekend in May (depending on Mothers Day and the
availability of hotels). The business of the organization as well as the election of
officers are held.
Scholarship recipients are presented following the luncheon. The invitation to Workshop
will be
presented by the hosting club. All clubs have the opportunity to sell hand made or
multiple related
items at the Showcase. These activities are for the M.O.M.s, but there
are usually a few Dads that
attend, too. No children are allowed on the floor. The convention runs from Friday
afternoon until
Saturday Night, and its up to you as to what activities you would like to
participate in. With raffle
prizes throughout the weekend, its a really fun and rewarding experience that you
have to attend to
understand, and once you do
youre hooked!
Workshop is usually held the first weekend in November. A morning
business session is planned
with workshop sessions offered after the luncheon. SCMOTC Workshops are meant to further
the knowledge of parents of multiples with a variety of professionals in their respective
fields. Raffles
held during these weekends help raise funds for our child related charities, and will also
be used to
support the SCMOTC College Scholarship Fund. The invitation to Convention is presented
by the hosting club.
There are between 250-400 attendees at Convention/Workshops. Bids are
presented by member
clubs at either Convention or Workshop. Bid forms are available from the Meeting Planner.
First
Call to Convention/Workshops are mailed to all member clubs in good standing approximately
two months prior to the event. Final Call is printed in The Bulletin.
